Celebration... Sanctuary Sundays

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I have always loved the energy of this weekend as it unofficially kicks off summer, my favorite season. It’s like a deep breath of fresh air to my heart and soul, and a deep sigh of relaxation for my body.

This is a season of so many celebrations: graduations (happened in my house), weddings, parties, and just the excitement of more family time, more travel, more outdoor time. I love that we do this as a society. But also notice that most of the time, the celebrations are to honor others.

And I wonder: What if we also used this season to celebrate and honor ourselves? Celebrate the little moments that others might not see. Give yourself that acknowledgment that you completed that project, were extra kind to a friend, put flowers on the table to make your environment a little prettier. These all count in the making of the ripple effect of life. Celebrate yourself for living an intentional life filled with beautiful little moments.

Also - I truly believe that we need to celebrate being a parent to older kids and the success of helping them to launch into adulthood (and yes, we can shed a few tears, too!). Stay tuned for details on a college-mom community circle that I am creating for late summer and fall. It’ll be a high-vibe container to connect, nourish, and celebrate this stage of our life.

Reflect on the ripple effect of life and that it primarily comes from the little moments. So when you have a great celebration for a big accomplishment for someone else, look at that moment to see what you can infuse into your everyday life.

Is it buying yourself flowers? (chime in miley cyrus here) Is it a solo dance party? Look for ways to celebrate your heart and soul. Journaling on this topic will help you let the creativity flow!

Happy kick-off of summer and celebrations!

With love,

Kristin
