What are you truly devoted to?
Who and what is getting your time?
Work and careers can require a lot of our devotion and time, but how can we make that more energetically equivocal to the feelings that we want to have in our everyday life?
If you want to really love your life, and build up your reserves of happiness, you cannot be asleep at the wheel. You want to become the alert manual driver of your life, while infusing it with devotion for the direction that you want it to go.
It takes intention, devotion, and action.
I'm currently doing an advanced training that requires a 40 day practice of the exact same breathwork and meditation sequence. It's a challenge. I have had to restart four times. And the process of really seeing your commitment through - it's so rewarding.
Becoming devoted to regulating your nervous system, through practices like breathwork, meditation, and even dancing and other somatic practices, is such a life-enhancing shift. I want to shout this from the rooftops.
Breathwork and meditation are LIFE-INFUSING devotional practices.
When you become devoted to infusing your day with micro-moments of nervous system regulation, you show up for everything else you care about with so much more joy and happiness. Your family, your friends, your work and purpose, even your faith.
And those 4 pillars - family, friends, work, and faith - are our “401k happiness plan”, as Dr. Arthur Brooks calls it. (He’s great. Check out his books or find him on podcasts!).
I encourage you to choose to be devoted to infusing your life with intentional micro-moments that build your “401k happiness plan.”
You may want to take the time to write out your responses to these journal prompts. Hand-writing taps into the part of your brain that allows for more creativity.
How can I be more devoted to creating that feeling, so that when you wake up each day, you say, “I truly love my life”?
Do I have moments where I can add deep breathing, meditation, and/or prayer to my day? What could that look like?
Where can I build on that “401k happiness plan?”
What is a simple step I can take to be devoted to what lights me up, today?
If you are looking for support with building your daily practices around breathwork, meditation, and more, this is a part of my 1:1 service. Just reach out if you’d like to learn more.
